About the Hillside Restaurant |
| |
|
| |
The Hillside is a small neighbourhood restaurant
situated in Bengeo, Hertford.
Since opening in Feb 2003, the restaurant
has received numerous acclaims from local and nationwide press. It
hase been rated by Michelin, Egon Ronay, Waitrose and Time Out Magazines
amongst others. The philosophy behind The Hillside is simple: great
food, good wine and efficient service.
It is a place to relax, socialise with friends and have a quiet,
delicious lunch or dinner. Chef Justin Sharp is passionate about using local seasonal produce. Chicken
is freshly delivered from Temple Farm in Roydon, game is from nearby Puckeridge
and our friendships with local allotments allow us to use local vegetables.
"A gutsy menu full of dishes made with local produce" (
In-style magazine)
"Clearly the kitchen isn’t shy of passionate cooking....modern
British cooking of intense flavour." (The
Guardian)
"Much as I love pubs and hate to see them close, when they re-open
as restaurants as delightful as this one, it’s hard to be too put out" (Waitrose
Illustrated)
"This bijou Gastro pub (no more than 30 covers) is
a real find, serving food of star quality" (Egon
Ronay Guide 2006). |
